Length of Stay

Minimum stay: 5 nights (3 nights after Labor Day)

Maximum stay: 28 consecutive nights

We might be able to book some shorter stays, if we have smaller blocks of time available after the season begins. If we do, please note that we will charge a $100 cleaning fee for any stay shorter than the minimum nights (5 nights/3 after Labor Day).

Discounts & Special Offers

We encourage you to take a long stay with us and offer the following discounts:

  • 7 consecutive nights ("weekly rate"): one night discounted (7 nights for the price of 6)

  • 28 consecutive nights ("monthly rate"): 30% discount (based on nightly rate)

  • Discounted per-night rates in the early season (June) and late season (after Labor Day weekend)

Discounts are reflected on checkout / at time of booking. When searching for cabins, note that discounts are not applied to the estimated quote until after you specify your dates.

Cleaning, Accessibility, Pets & Watercraft

Housekeeping

We are a "light housekeeping" resort. This means that our rates are set with the expectation that guests will maintain their own cabins. This includes cleaning and putting away all dishes and other cabin items, piling up towels, wiping surfaces, sweeping floors, and cleaning up kitchen appliances. It does not include doing any laundry, stripping the beds or deep cleaning.

You will be left a pre-checkout list in your cabin that will make these expectations clear. Please help us keep rates low by completing these important steps. If your cabin is not left in broom-ready condition your credit card will be charged a post-checkout cleaning fee and you may be denied future bookings.

For longer stays, we can work out arrangements for housekeeping and linen replacement based on your needs. In general, this is what we will do. Please ask if you need something different.

  • 7 nights or less: No linen replacement or cleaning service (no one will enter your cabin during your stay)

  • More than 7 days: Linens can be replaced weekly (we can either leave linens for you to change or come into your cabin to do it for you). We will provide cleaning supplies for you to clean your cabin.

Accessibility

Devil Track Lake Cabins is an old family-owned resort, built before accessible design was widely implemented in vacation rentals. We want to help your stay be as comfortable and optimal as possible. Please ask if you have any questions or need to check on cabin accessibility.

Here is a brief list of current accessibility features at the resort:

  • Bird is the best cabin to book for mobility access. It can be accessed with zero steps via the back door and has the closest parking spot to the cabin.

  • Moose is the least accessible cabin for mobility access. It currently requires walking on uneven ground and has an internal step.

  • Fox, Moose & Bear cabins all require a small number of entry steps to access (3-4), but have only one level (no steps) once inside.

  • Shower stalls are small and have a small lip to step over on entry.

  • Queen bedrooms have sufficient space to move around with most mobility aids. The Twin bedrooms are pretty small and would be a tight (but not impossible) fit for a walker or wheelchair.

  • Carts (indoor & outdoor) are available on request to help moving luggage, groceries, etc.

  • Access to lake docks requires transversing gravel and/or dirt areas (unpaved, may be uneven).

Pets and Service Animals

We strive for a low-allergen environment for the comfort of all our guests. To accommodate this we have a strict policy of no pets allowed. This includes emotional support animals (ESAs).

Service animals -- If you have a service dog (a dog who has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities), please give us a heads-up so we can make appropriate arrangements for your stay.

Contact us if you need suggestions on local pet sitters and kennels. If you bring a pet, you will be asked to leave the resort immediately and will forfeit your cabin rental fees.

Personal Watercraft Policies

  • Any guests using personal watercraft agree to review & follow MN state boating regulations. A current year copy will be available in each cabin.

  • We provide kayaks and canoes for guests during their stay.

    • First come, first served usage.

    • Guests will review & sign the watercraft usage agreement before taking out resort kayaks and canoes.

    • Life jackets of various sizes are available, or guests can bring and use their own.

    • Life jackets are required to be worn/available per MN state boating regulations:

      • State law requires children under 10 years old to wear a properly fitted life jacket while a boat is underway. Underway means not securely fastened to a permanent mooring or tied to a dock.

      • A readily accessible and wearable life jacket is required for each person onboard a boat, this includes canoes & kayaks.

  • Due to space constraints we cannot accommodate parking of guest trailers of any type at the resort (e.g. boat, camper & cargo).

  • Motorized boat policy: We have limited dock space and shoreline for guest personal watercraft. Please contact us if you want to bring your personal boat. Note that we aren’t allowing Jet Skis or equivalent personal watercraft, and we are aiming to limit very large motors to maintain as much of a quiet North Woods experience as possible.

  • Boat rental: Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer the motor boat for rental in 2023. We recommend contacting Skyport Lodge (on Devil Track Lake) if you wish to rent a pontoon boat.

Resort Use & Enjoyment

Guests must adhere to resort quiet hours from 10pm-8am. Our resort is small and in a residential area.

Resort use is for registered guests only. While a dinner visit from a local friend or two is fine, common spaces and cabins are not intended for use by non-registered guests. This includes gatherings for family reunions and retreats, and applies even if all cabins have been rented by the same group/family. Please ask if you think this will be a concern for your rental.

Absolutely no bachelor or bachelorette parties will be booked or allowed at the resort.

Loud groups and/or guests not respecting resort guidelines and quiet hours may be asked to leave. If you or your guests violate this policy, you may be asked to leave the resort immediately and will forfeit all cabin rental fees.

Non-registered guests are not permitted access to the lake from the resort in any way. This includes being on the docks, using the resort's kayaks and canoes (as a passenger and/or driver), and entering/exiting the Lake from the resort grounds.

Rescheduling Your Stay

Please let us know as soon as possible if you think you need to reschedule your stay.

Many of our bookings are made months ahead of time. We will try to accommodate your needs but we may be limited in what we can do.

  • Changes to your reservation will "reset" all quoted rates. Your new reservation dates will be used to determine minimum night policies and qualification for extended stay discounts.

  • You can only reschedule for dates in the 2023 season. We are not making bookings for the 2024 season at this time. This includes deferred/rescheduled bookings.

  • Future credit will not be offered for canceled stays. We will refund your booking based on the Cancellation Policy at the time it is canceled.
